WORLD CUP OF COMEDY
CALLING ALL TRI-STATE COMICS: Do you have what it takes to win the Comedy World Cup?
With 1.3M tourists flooding NJ for the World Cup this summer, we are throwing the biggest tournament in the scene: A World Cup-Style Round of 32 Comedy Showdown.
How it works:
🔥 32 Comics. Head-to-head knockout rounds.
⏱️ 1-Minute Sets. You have 60 seconds to beat your opponent.
📣 The Judges. After feedback from a panel of pro comics, the audience decides the winner via applause. (tie-breaker goes to panel votes).
The Prize Stage: Four qualifier rounds will determine who survives and advances to the Finals on July 9th inside the iconic, 300-seat JDW Theater at the Liberty Science Center.

QUALIFIER GROUP SHOW(S)
There will be 4 qualifier groups. Each show will have two rounds of single elimination face-offs. Eight comics face off in Round 1, cutting the field down to four. In Round 2, those final four go head-to-head, leaving just two comics standing to go on to the Finals Show on July 9th!

FINALS SHOW
Eight elite comics enter the Quarter-finals, but only four make the Semis. The comics that come up short in the Semis compete in a bonus round to determine 3rd place. The show ends after both comics that survive the semis battle each other and a World Cup of Comedy Champion gets crowned!

With NJ expecting an estimated 1.3M tourists for the world cup this summer, we’re holding a Round of 32 world cup bracket styled standup comedy competition.
We’ll be hosting 4 qualifier shows where 2 comics on each show will go on to the quarter finals held in the 300 seat JDW Theater of the Liberty Science Center on July 9th.
Each round in the tournament will feature two comics doing 1 minute of standup comedy. After each set, comics will get feedback from a panel of comics. Winners are determined by audience applause with ties being decided by comic panel vote.

1st Prize - $500 CASH and a residency for all 6th Borough Comedy x LSC After-Dark shows for the rest of 2026.
2nd Prize - $100 CASH and a professional head shot package
3rd Prize - $50 CASH and a cannabis care package
